Sofcar has multiple parameterizations to adapt its features to the operation of each car rental company.
In the Initial Setup, you will fill-in your preferences to automatically apply the changes to your new Sofcar platform, since there are as many initial configurations as there are Sofcar clients.
The Initial Setup is the first step after the creation of your Sofcar Account. It consists of several technical preferences to choose, quickly and easily, your operational preferences so that your Sofcar solution will run an automatic parametrization to adapt your platform consequently.
When you first access your newly created Sofcar account, a right-side banner will appear in your screen offering you to setup your platform with actual informations about your company, fleet, etc. This disclaimer grants you direct access to the Initial Setup menu to introduce all the needed data to start using Sofcar in a daily basis, but you can also disregard this settings for the time being and test Sofcar features and functionalities with the sample data introduced by default in your platform.
If you choose to fill in the Initial Setup configurations, take into account that this menu will be editable during the Trial period, so you will be able to modify the informations thereby included initially and reset the system as many times as you wish.
The Initial Setup consists of individual details and informations to be applied in your Sofcar solution, therefore, hereby you will include data such as:
Company Profile: official name, trade name, tax ID number, telephone, e-mail address and website. These details will be displayed on all documents and notifications generated by the system.
General: Time zone, primary color and currency. These details will be set on a general basis over your system and displayed in multiple sections and documents.
Identifiers: Initial Booking number and Booking Reference. Hereby you will establish the prefix and initial numbers to all bookings created either manually from your dashboard or through your web booking widget.
Rates: The system enables the setting of general pricing periods according to groups, seasons and extra products. The format must be unique for all Rates, Seasons and Groups. The calculation made by the system regarding pricing periods will be as follows: Booking price = Days in the booking * Price of the time frame. Hereby you will choose among different booking pricing intervals and extra services pricing intervals.
General Indirect Tax: Some countries apply a general indirect tax to the sale price of many goods and services. Hereby you will be able to set the name and percentage of the tax and decide whether or not it shall be included in your Rates.
